Miray is a Solicitor in the Family and Immigration Department at Miya Solicitors, having joined the firm in August 2019. Miray also has been specialising in civil litigation for over five years.
Miray qualified from the University of Hull with a Law degree. Shortly after completing her LLB (Hons), Miray went on to successfully completing her LPC at the BPP Law School.
Miray practises in all areas of family law, with a particular focus on private law proceedings.
Miray advises clients in disputes concerning arrangements for children, financial relief proceedings, in cases concerning allegations of domestic violence and within divorce proceedings.
Miray has always practised in immigration, asylum and human rights but in recent years has focused her attention on the Ankara Agreement for Turkish businesspersons and European Union permits.
Miray advises in all aspects of immigration, asylum and human rights, at all levels. She also regularly advises in judicial review matters (including urgent applications and injunctions), civil penalties for immigration offences and civil claims for damages for unlawful detention.
Miray is heavily involved in the Turkish/Kurdish community and regularly hosts events helping the wider community. Miray has successfully launched a legal advice clinic, takes part in community panels and organises cultural events.
Miray enjoys reading and travelling in her spare times alongside keeping up with the latest political and scientific developments.
